snorkeling cenote

In Cenotes

Cenote tour, let’s go to snorkel in the jungle!

Let’s go on a cenote tour! … but we get asked all of the time, “What’s a cenote?” A cenote (say-‘No’ tay) is essentially a cave who’s roof has collapsed due to erosion and rainwater has filled the existing area. Basically….it’s a great place for swimming and snorkeling.

You will likely never get a chance to experience this type of snorkeling anywhere else in the world.

.

Cenote private tour

Crystal-clear waters await you when you sign up for a private cenote snorkeling tour. Underwater visibility often exceeds 50 meters or 150 feet! You will be able to see the vivid imagery up close and personal. The rock formations and the colors are spectacular.

By choosing to tour with us, you will get to see some of Mexico’s most exclusive cenotes. We take you away from the hustle and bustle of Dos Ojos, Gran Cenote, and Chikin Ha, and bring you to less disturbed cenotes. That being said, we are more than happy to take you to these places if requested. Just say the word.

tour in cenote

Our cenote snorkeling tour is unique in that its pace is set by you. We are pleased to adapt our tour to all skill levels of a group. We love first time snorkelers because seeing your eyes light up at the sights are amazing. We also love experts because we know you have never seen anything like this before.

The water in a cenote is generally around 77 degrees Fahrenheit or 25 degrees Celsius. This goes great with our hot Caribbean climate. However, if you get a little chilly, we can provide wetsuits to help with warmth and buoyancy. We promise to provide you with the most relaxing, comfortable snorkeling tour you have every experienced.

Our local wildlife has a way of creeping up on us. Usually, the adventure begins even before arriving at the cenote. You are likely to encounter native birds, reptiles, and spiders on your way to the cenote. Don’t worry, everything is perfectly safe! In the cenotes, you may encounter bats and motmots. Motmots are birds with a bright turquoise tail.

cenote tour

Please feel free to combine any of our tours. For history buffs, combine cenote snorkeling with a trip to a local archaeological site like Tulum, Coba, or Chichen Itza. If you want to swim with sea turtles, we can accommodate that as well by combining our snorkeling with turtles tour with cenote snorkeling. You also have the option of spending the entire day in multiple cenotes. We cap it all off with a traditional Mexican meal at a local restaurant. Basically, we want this trip to be what you want it to be.

If you’re planning a vacation, look up Absolute Adventure. Our name says it all!
